What is the Juror looking for?
What is the Juror looking for? There are three things to keep in mind when accessing your artwork.

Smart Editing
Keep the good bits and descard the rest: That's the goal in all creative work.

neutral walls for artwork
There are neutral walls at my house. It's a bright airy facelift!

Looking at Light
These photos were my inspiration for creating a piece for the Chasing Light show.

New Combinations
Are you one of those silly people? - A person who thinks your house can only hold a finite number of artworks? There are a lot of you out there!

March Miscellany
Some of you live in Gillette Wyoming, but you might not know about the wonderful venue for contemporary art quilts at City Hall. Take the stairs, and see my artwork from various vantage points! I change out the quilts in Spring and Autumn.

Art Show Themes
Art shows often come together better if there are parameters. These might be subject matter, concept, color palette, size, medium, or some combination of these things.

Show and Tell
In spite of current events, one could not help but feel impressed with and inspired by humans. One of the many things I was struck by, was our ability to trade goods and create beautiful things.

Light and Dark Harmony
Strong composition involves color and repetition of shape. But, in my opinion, values (lights and darks) are the driving forces in the success of a composition.

Working in the Studio
It feels good to create artwork that is a reflection of 2020, and also shares my state of mind. What makes a person feel safe?

Art Record
Several years ago I set about, with the help of my organized librarian cousin, to compile an art record of all the pieces I had created for the last 50 plus years. It is a chronological list and a set of images.
